TANGER OUTLETS COOKSTOWN

As part of a continued commitment by Tanger to support education and invest in the local community, Tanger Outlets Cookstown announces its first-ever Canadian 2023 TangerKids Grants recipient.
The local winner is Banting Memorial High School in Alliston, who will use the funds for their Equity Meets Art project. The grant funds will be used to purchase basic art and school supplies that will be accessible for all students regardless of socioeconomic status.
Tanger Cookstown will donate a total of $5,000 to fund classroom investments through the TangerKids Grants program. More than half of grant funding across all centres in Canada and the United States is allocated to support underserved schools for programs including special education initiatives, hygiene and clothing closets, literacy efforts, STEM and more.
“Tanger is dedicated to strengthening the community, and supporting educational opportunities for local students is a key priority for us each year,” said Tanger Cookstown general manager Stacey Melo. “These grants were requested directly by Simcoe County teachers for meaningful projects that enhance learning environments and contribute to students’ success both in and out of the classroom.”
The annual program serves schools from junior kindergarten to Grade 12. Applications were open from Aug. 14 to Oct. 16, 2023, and the winner was selected from numerous applicants within Simcoe County.
Tanger Cookstown celebrated TangerKids Day on Jan. 24, 2024 with a cheque presentation at Banting Memorial High School.
